Parker Trades In Austin For Nashville
• RAMP has learned that Emily Parker has resigned her position as PD of Waterloo Media Triple A Austin City Limits Radio (KGSR-HD2)/Austin, and is relocating to Nashville to pursue a new opportunity. We hear that Parker’s new Nashville gig is not in radio, but will still be in the music industry. Stay tuned for further details.
RAMP understands that many of Parker’s current music and programming responsibilities will be absorbed TFN by KROX PD Lynn Barstow, who can be contacted at lbarstow@krox.com.
Parker (the artist formerly known as Emily McIntosh) has been in Austin since 2014, hired by previous owner Emmis Austin as an on-air talent at Alternative sister KROX. She was named MD/midday personality at KGSR in October 2015 and upped to PD in Jan. 2017.
McIntosh got her first radio break at Kansas State’s student-run radio station, KSDB (91.9 The Wildcat) from 2009-2011 and later worked for Manhattan Broadcasting’s KXBZ and KACZ/Manhattan, KS until moving to Austin. Looking ahead, she can be reached at 620-388-4955, or emilymci07@gmail.com.
