Preston Named SVPP For iHeart Baltimore

Mike Preston has been named Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Baltimore, effective immediately. He will also serve as Program Director for Country WPOC and Adult Hits WQSR (102.7 Jack FM).

A radio veteran with over 25 years of programming experience, Preston most recently spent seven years with Entercom Seattle, where he programmed Country KKWF (100.7 The Wolf) and launched and programmed KHTP (Hot 103.7) until February of this year. Before that he spent three years as VP of Programming for CBS Radio San Francisco. No stranger to the Seattle market, Preston previously spent nine years there programming CBS Radio Top 40 KBKS while also serving as the company’s VP of CHR Programming. He’s also known and loved for his many years as APD of WPLJ/New York back in the day, working with Scott Shannon and Tom Cuddy.

“Mike Preston fits this opening like a glove,” said Jeff Kapugi, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Washington, D.C. Region. “I’m confident that his leadership and personality will take our Baltimore cluster to new heights.” Preston commented, “From Elliott Bay to the Chesapeake Bay, I’m thrilled to join the iHeartMedia programming team in Baltimore. I can’t wait to join this amazing group of brands and the equally amazing and talented people who bring them to life.”

Preston succeeds Jeff Wyatt, who recently announced his retirement from day-to-day programming.
