Price Is Right For KMVA/Phoenix
• Riviera Broadcasting has appointed market mainstay Ron “Geronimo” Price as the new Program Director of Hot AC KMVA (Hot 97.5 & 103.9)/Phoenix.
It was 20 years ago this week when Price arrived in Phoenix as PD/midday talent on Clear Channel (iHeartMedia) Hot AC KMXP (Mix 96.9), a stint that lasted until late 2014. For the past year Price has been doing weekends and fill-in down the hall on Riviera Classic Hits sibling KOAI (95.1/94.9 The Oasis), and had been handling music duties for KMVA since former KMVA & KKFR VP of Programming Mikey Fuentes left in April to focus on the syndication of Tino Cochino Radio.
As the press release states, “Ron’s knowledge of what women want from radio in Phoenix led to coaching and developing multiple morning shows that achieved No. 1 ranking in all adult demographics. He also created a plethora of revenue and ratings-generating NTR programs and events benefiting both clients and listeners. As an on-air talent, he hosted the No. 1-ranked midday show during his 15 years at KMXP.” Price started his radio career in 1987 at WHYT and WJR-AM/Detroit. He later served as APD at KHTS (Channel 933) and XHRM (Magic 92.5)/San Diego.
Michael Cutchall, CEO of Riviera Broadcasting commented, “If you noticed the smile on my face. It is because one of the very best programmers in Phoenix radio has joined our team.”
