Promotion Party At Houston’s Bull
• There’s a festive, party-like atmosphere inside the hallways of Entercom Country KILT (100.3 The Bull)/Houston, with free cake and balloons for the kids, as the station celebrates dual programming department promotions: morning co-host Monica “Mo” Lunsford is upped to APD, and afternoon personality Nick Russo is awarded MD stripes.
These moves help fill the void created in September when PD Chris Huff exited during the company’s extensive “reimagining” of its Country and Alternative formats.
Lunsford (left) joined The Bull in March 2015, teaming up with George Lindsey and “Cowboy Dave” Bayless in mornings, transitioning from her morning co-host spot at Alpha Media Country KUPL (98.7 The Bull)/Portland, OR. Prior to joining KUPL in May 2013, Lunsford was morning co-host and Director of Events for Cumulus Hot AC WRWM (I94)/Indianapolis. Commenting on her upgrade, Lunsford said, “I love Country music and our KILT-FM family. I’m thankful for the opportunity to continue to help build on our solid foundation! Go team!”
At the same time that Lunsford joined the Bull five years ago, Russo (right) was upped from part-time to full-time 7-midnight jock, and was elevated to afternoon drive in August 2016. A grateful Russo told RAMP, “A former classmate of mine named Edward Garcia said it best — ‘Show up, volunteer and do the work. And the rest will figure itself out.’ This is an honor and privilege I’ve dreamt about for a really long time. Thank you to Tim Roberts, Marci Braun & Sarah Frazier for offering me this opportunity and their continued belief in my talent.”
