Pros On The Loose: Eric Gottlieb

• Last week we reported on the budget cuts inside Fordham University’s WFUV/New York, triggered by July’s rescission of support for The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, costing WFUV some $500,000 in annual support, or 7% of its budget. In response, WFUV was forced to reduce expenses by eliminating five positions (12% of its staff), in the areas of programming, digital and corporate underwriting.

One of those pros adversely affected was WFUV Asst. PD Eric Gottlieb, who had served in that capacity since 2018. During that time he also served as Interim PD from 2020 to early 2021. Prior to joining WFUV Gottlieb spent seven years with Music Choice, rising to Programming Manager, handling Triple A (successfully campaigned to have it on Mediabase), Blues, Classical, Americana, and Urban Alternative formats to name a few.
