Radio Career With A Donut Hole

• Over the course of a 33-year radio career, Denver radio vet Jonathan Wilde has done mornings for 25 years, was a three-time CMA Award winner for Major Market Air Personality of the Year; a Marconi Nominee, and a three-time ACM Nominee. He notably programmed Wilks Country KWOF (92.5 The Wolf)/Denver for five years, followed by a stint across the street at Bonneville AC KOSI.

As Wilde relates to RAMP, “On June 13, 2017, I was let go from KOSI/Denver, even though my morning show had been ranked No. 1 with women for 16 months straight and I was the most-listened-to morning show in the market.”

From that moment on, Wilde was out of radio for nearly 7 years (specifically, 2,432 days). which just happens to the be the title of a new documentary — 2,432: Radio Daze — The Jonathan Wilde Story, which chronicles Wilde’s career, his unscheduled exit from radio, new life adventures during those years away, and his triumphant on-air return earlier this year, where he is currently on three iHeartMedia Colorado stations (as “Johnny Wilde“) — Mornings on KXBG (Big 97.9)/Fort Collins, early afternoons on KWBL (106.7 The Bull)/Denver and weekends on Classic Rock KRFX (103.5 The Fox)/Denver.

2,432: Radio Daze was produced and directed by another 30+ year radio pro, Jay Cruze. Wilde can be contacted at jonwild@aol.com, and find him on Instagram @johnnywilderadio.
