• Stand by for the official release, but wanted to be among the first to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Kashon Powell, PD of Radio One Urban AC WMMJ (Majic 102.3)/Washington, who has been deservedly upped to Operations Manager of the DC cluster, which also includes Urban WKYS, News-Talk WOL-AM, Urban Gospel duo WPRS (Praise 104.1) and WYCB-AM (Spirit 1340).
• And speaking of WKYS, QuickSilva, host of The Fam in The Morning show yesterday announced his new co-host will be Danni Starr, who officially joins the show next Tuesday, February 21 at 6am. Ms. Starr is a market vet, having previously co-hosted the syndicated Kane Show, based across the street at iHeartMedia Top 40 WIHT (Hot 99.5). She is also the face of TLCme on TLC and she currently serves as ambassador for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health.
