Ramona Holloway: Free Agent
• Just over a year after being named as Community Affairs Manager for Radio One Charlotte, market mainstay Ramona Holloway announced via social media that she had been laid off due to budget cuts.
Holloway famously co-hosted the Matt & Ramona morning show with Matt Harris on Hot AC WLNK (Mix 107.9)/Charlotte for 22 years until May 2023, when she transitioned into the newly created role.
In a phone conversation with The Charlotte Observer, Holloway said she had been let go last Tuesday morning and told the decision was being made due to “budget cuts.” The Community Affairs Manager position had been originally created for her, and Holloway said, “it was just, they felt, time to uncreate it, to save money.” Holloway’s termination also means her guest appearances on The Morning Mix with Matt Harris & Liz Luda are also over.
In addition to her two-decade run with Harris, Holloway is also an in-demand motivational speaker and event host. She earlier co-hosted Charlotte Today on WCNC-TV and News Edge on WCCB-TV.
