Randy Chase Joins SummitMedia As SVPP
• SummitMedia has named Randy Chase to the dual role of corporate SVP of Programming and PD of Country WCYQ (100.3 The Wolf)/Knoxville, TN. As SVPP, Chase will oversee all SummitMedia Country stations, succeeding Beverlee Brannigan, who exited last Friday. Chase will be based in Knoxville and fills the vacant PD position formerly held by Loyd Ford until last September.
Carl Parmer, SummitMedia Chairman & CEO stated, “Randy’s experience across all formats and his passion to serve our listeners make him an excellent addition to our team. His ability to innovate in our industry and drive consumer engagement are attributes we are particularly excited about.” Chase reports to Bill Tanner, Executive Vice President of Programming, who commented, “We are very pleased for Randy to join us and confident his experience will enhance our ability to serve our audience.”
Chase spent the past seven years with Educational Media Foundation (EMF) before leaving the company in March. Chase joined EMF in June 2013 as PD of Air1, later moving over to program K-LOVE before his elevation to VP of Radio. Prior to joining EMF, Chase worked for Cox Media Group as Director of Country Programming and PD of KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio. Earlier programming stops include Double-O Radio in Columbia, SC and Guaranty Media and Citadel in Baton Rouge, LA.
“The opportunity to join SummitMedia and its leadership team is a privilege,” Chase said. “I’m excited to get back to my Country roots and partner with the programming team to grow the Summit brands to real powerhouses in their markets.”
