Redding The New Home Of True Oldies
• Results Radio LLC in Redding, CA announces a format change for KKXS/Shingletown-Redding from Sports-Talk XS Sports 96.1 to Oldies as 96 KTO, with the installation of Scott Shannon’s True Oldies Channel, distributed by Local Radio Networks. A call letter change to KYTO-FM is pending.
XS Sports 96.1 had been the Redding market’s CBS Sports Radio affiliate, and the local affiliate for the San Francisco Giants and 49ers.
Moments after the switch was thrown, Results Radio SVP of Strategic Development Dave Shakes commented, “We’re excited to partner with LRN and the True Oldies Channel. ’60s and ’70s Oldies will fill a hole in the Redding market for the wide appeal of America’s greatest pop music.”
The good news — no personnel changes will be made as a consequence of the format change.
