Reilly Joins Midwest Communications Wausau
• Veteran programmer Jon Reilly is joining Duke Wright’s Midwest Communications in Wausau, WI as Operations Manager of Top 40 WIFC, Country WDEZ (101.9 Great Country) and Adult Hits WOZZ (94.7 Jack FM). The position was formerly held by Rusty James, who was elevated to Wausau Market Manager several months ago. Chris Conley will continue as Operations Manager for News-Talk WSAU and Sports-Talk WRIG (93.9 The Game).
Reilly (pictured here with Kane Brown) spent the past decade with Albany Broadcasting as Operations Manager for the company’s Albany and Glens Falls, NY stations until his departure in early September. The new gig marks a return to Wisconsin for Reilly, who in the early 2000s spent six years in Madison as PD of Clear Channel Top 40 WZEE (Z104) and Country WMAD. He later programmed Citadel Country WIWF (96.9 The Wolf)/Charleston, SC. Earlier PD stops include WRHT & WNBR/Greenville-New Bern, NC, WXLK (K92)/Roanoke, VA and WRTS (Star 104)/Erie, PA.
Rusty James commented, “I’m thrilled to have Jon join our great team as Operations Manager for WIFC, WDEZ and Jack FM. The first time I spoke with Jon I had the feeling that he had the talent to lead our team and keep us moving forward.” Reilly, who officially starts on Monday, Dec. 12, stated, “I’ve always heard great things about Midwest Communications and now I’m excited to be part of the Wausau team, working with Rusty James and VP of Programming Jeff McCarthy.”
