Remembering Michelle Matthews

• We were deeply saddened to hear that Michelle Matthews (Michelle Weber Rigden), Operations Manager of American General Media’s Albuquerque, NM group, died Thanksgiving morning after battling some health issues. She was only 54 years old.

Matthews arrived in Albuquerque in May of this year, having previously programmed Cumulus Hot AC 96.3 WDVD/Detroit until her departure a year ago during a round of corporate restructuring. Matthews earlier spent eight years in Columbus, OH, as OM/PD of Saga AC WSNY (Sunny 95) and Hot AC WVMX (Mix 107.9). She also programmed iHeartMedia Classic Hits KLOU/St. Louis and worked for eight years in Omaha as OM of Clear Channel/iHeartMedia’s group and Regional Programming Manager for Omaha, Wichita and Sioux City, IA. Matthews’ earlier experience include stops at KXPK & KALC/Denver and as OM of Saga’s Springfield, IL group.

Matthews is survived by her husband Jonathan and her sons Kiefer and Ryan.
