Reno Radio Forecast: Rayne
• UPDATED: Tim “Rayne” Rainey has been inked as the new morning talent on Evans Broadcast Company Alternative KRAT (ALT 92.1)/Reno, NV. Market Manager Henry Evans commented, “Tim is a great addition to the ALT 92.1 team. He’s a native Nevadan, has major market experience, and a passion for the format. We’re anticipating big things for his morning show, and we are thrilled to have him on board.”
Rainey was most recently PD and morning co-host at Audacy Top 40 KUDL (106.5 The End)/Sacramento from 2015 until early 2021. His previous major programming stops include former CBS Radio Top 40 WDZH (98.7 AMP Radio)/Detroit and former Radio One Top 40 WNOU/Indianapolis. Rainey got his first taste of radio at the age of 13, interning as a board op at KGVM/Gardnerville, NV. He later relocated to Reno where he gained experience at KDOT, KLCA and KWNZ, then moved to Las Vegas, graduating from UNLV in 2004. Rainey also worked at KLUC/Las Vegas and KHTT/Tulsa before landing in Indianapolis in 2006.
Rainey remarked, “Growing up in Reno, it’s great to be back on the air in the city that started it all for me. ALT 92.1 has quickly become the alternative music voice of the Truckee Meadows and I’m excited to be a part of it. Big thanks to Jerry Evans, Henry Evans and [ALT 92.1 consultant] John Lund for having me be a part of this great brand and continuing broadcasting excellence in Northern Nevada.”
