Rixx The Rx For KAYD/Beaumont

• Cumulus has tapped veteran Country programmer/air personality Steve Rixx as PD of heritage Country 101.7 KAYD/Beaumont, TX, effective May 2. Rixx will also be heard in afternoon drive on Country sisters KYKZ/Lake Charles, LA and 99.7 KBCY/Abilene, TX.

Rixx has spent his entire 30-year radio career in his home state of Texas, most recently as OM/PD of HEH Communications’ Country 101.7 KSAM & Classic Hits KHVL (The Lake 94.1/104.9)/Huntsville, TX. Rixx got his radio start in his hometown of Lufkin, TX, at Country duo KYKS (Kicks 105) and KJCS (103 The Bull) and Classic Rock KTBQ (Q107). He later moved to Houston to do middays and afternoons at KILT-FM (100.3 The Bull).
