Sean Strife Wakes Up In Vegas
• A few weeks ago we told you that Sean Strife had resigned as APD/MD/midday personality at iHeartMedia Top 40 WKQI (Channel 95.5)/Detroit for a new gig TBA. That mystery has now been solved, as it was announced that Strife is headed for the family-friendly oasis of Las Vegas as the newly named morning co-host on iHeartMedia AC KSNE (Sunny 106.5), where he will plug in across from existing morning host Joanna Baumann to create… wait for it… Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean, weekdays from 5-10am, effective Monday, Oct. 16.
“We’re very happy to have Sean Strife joining the Las Vegas team,” said Tony Matteo, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Las Vegas. “His incredible talent and ability are an excellent match for our mission on Sunny 106.5.”
Strife arrived in Detroit in June 2020 after just over a year as APD/MD and afternoon delight at iHeartMedia Top 40 sister WZEE (Z104)/Madison, WI. A graduate of the University of Florida, Strife began his radio career at iHeartMedia’s WLDI (WiLD 95.5)/West Palm Beach.
“My family and I will always love Detroit, but we are so excited to move to Las Vegas,” Strife said. “It really is one of America’s special cities, and I can’t wait to jump in with a market vet like Joanna. Huge thanks to Tony Matteo and Glynn Alan for the opportunity to wake up Vegas every morning on this legendary station!”
Strife succeeds AJ Maguire, who recently left after four years and relocated to Florida for family reasons.
