Spivey Upped To PD, KNIX/Phoenix
• iHeartMedia has elevated Reid Spivey to Program Director of Country KNIX/Phoenix, effective immediately.
The move makes sense, as Spivey (left) has been in the building for the past decade as Assistant Program Director across multiple brands, including Top 40 KZZP, Hot AC KMXP, and for the past seven years, KNIX, where he also does afternoons. Prior to his transfer to Phoenix in May 2015, Spivey programmed Top 40 sister WAEV (97.3 Kiss FM)/Savannah, GA and was APD/nights at sister WHQC/Charlotte. Spivey earlier worked at the late WABB/Mobile, and his career started at WDCG (G105)/Raleigh.
Spivey reports to Mark Medina, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Phoenix, who said, “Reid has demonstrated incredible leadership ability, a mastery of programming mechanics, and a true passion for the KNIX brand. He will be fantastic at the helm.”
“KNIX is a legendary station and I’m excited to continue the legacy we’ve built here in Phoenix,” Spivey said. “This team is truly one of the best in Country radio. A big thanks to Mark Medina, Linda Little, Kris Foley and Gene Romano for this opportunity, and thanks to Steve Geofferies for his mentorship over my seven years as APD.”
