Stripes Look Nice On Marino & Branch

Two matching cakes in the break room at Entercom’s WSTR (Star 94.1)/Atlanta are a dead giveaway that the station just announced dual promotions for two loyal staffers — afternoon personality Mike Marino has been upped to APD and longtime midday talent Heather Branch is now sporting sweet MD stripes. PD Tony Lorino said, “These two are excellent examples of people who have worked hard, and had it pay off. Mike and Heather are part of the fabric of Star 94.1 and they are both going to help us out tremendously as we continue to build the next generation of this this heritage brand.”

Marino commented, “When I first got here, it quickly became apparent to me that Star 94.1 is more than just a radio station… It’s an Atlanta institution. It’s truly an honor to continue the success and be a part of its heritage. I’m fortunate that I get to work alongside Heather Branch and a talented team that does what it takes to win. Branch remarked, “Exactly 17 years ago this month, I walked into the first radio station in which I’d ever set foot — it was WSTR-FM and I was there to interview for a summer internship with the station’s Music Director. By August, I knew one thing for sure: when I grew up, all I wanted to be is the Music Director at Star 94.1. Part of me never thought it would actually happen. Getting to have a shot at the job alongside Marino, Tony Lorino and Mike Fowler makes me pinch myself even harder.”
