Sunny Outlook For Schulz & Jlynn

Bill Schulz, who has hosted a morning music show longer than anyone else in Reno radio history, is about to move into a new radio home — after a 23-year run in morning drive on Reno Media Group Top 40 KLCA (Alice 96.5), Schulz, along with co-host Jlynn, will unplug tomorrow and roll across the hall to AC sister KRNO (Sunny 106.9). At the same time, Alice afternoon personality Landon Miller will move up to mornings, and current Sunny morning talent Jeff Ryan will continue to do afternoons on Classic Hits KODS (103.7 The River).

“This will be my fourth radio home with Reno Media Group, and it’s exciting to now be on the air at Reno’s top-rated radio station,” said Schulz, who arrived in Reno 29 years ago to co-host mornings on KODS (103.7 The River). He later moved to the former KWNZ (K-Wins 97.3) — now KOLC (Ten Country) and jumped to Alice in 2002.

In addition to anchoring a morning show, Schulz also serves as VP of Programming & Operations for the nine-station Reno Media Group, a position he assumed earlier this year.

The Alice Morning Show over the years has prided itself on not only being fun and entertaining, but also being a big part of the community,” said Kara Brown, VP/GM of Reno Media Group. “The show consists of market veteran Bill Schulz and the youthful and positive vibe of Jlynn.”

Schulz says many features listeners loved on the Alice show — “Trending,” “Would You Rather,” and “The Impossible Question” — will be now be heard on the Sunny 106.9 Feel Good Morning Show, weekdays from 5:30-10am, and will feature a commercial-free hour of music starting at 8:15am.
