That’s Some Hall Of Fame Beef On WECK
• It’s a whole new daily line-up at Buddy Shula-owned Oldies station WECK (The BIG WECK, FM 100.1, 100.5, 102.9 & AM 1230)/Buffalo, NY, with a revised on-air schedule jam-packed with Hall Of Fame broadcasters, and it all begins on Monday, March 7.
The action starts with 40-year market veteran and Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Famer, Joe Chille, who moves from afternoons back into his natural habitat of morning drive; Tom Donahue, another Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Famer, moves from mornings to 9am-noon. Fellow Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Famer Roger Christian, who spent more than 40 years at crosstown WTSS and its predecessors on that frequency, moves to noon-3pm. Bobby O, who got his start in his hometown of Buffalo before moving to major markets, moves from evenings to afternoon drive, followed by BIG WECK Program Director, Glenn Topolski, who takes over the 7-midnight show.
Rounding out the new schedule, Bob “Junior” Rosati crosses the street from Cumulus to host overnights on WECK. Other voices on The BIG WECK include Sheri Van Dyke and Jim Merkel.
These changes and additions are part of an ongoing branding and business growth strategy led by yet another Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Famer, Tom Langmyer, President & CEO of Great Lakes Media Acquisition & Advisory Group, who serves as Advisor to Radio One Buffalo.
All that said, here is the BIG WECK’s revised all-local line-up, effective Monday, March 7 — 6-9am: Joe Chille; 9am-noon: Tom Donahue; noon-3pm: Roger Christian; 3-7pm: Bobby O; 7-midnight: Glenn Topolski; midnight-6am: Junior Rosati.
