The Station That Reaches The Beaches
The FCC authorized a construction permit last year and granted the license to cover in late June after the installation of an upgraded antenna atop Mount Olympus (not the one in Greece, but thanks for asking). The antenna project has been in the works for some time, and the management and staff of WJPZ are thrilled to finally be broadcasting a bigger and better “Party Station” to a larger audience.
As GM Shruti Marathe explained, “We’ve had many hands working on this project for a long time. It is exciting to finally have it up and running and to have the greater Syracuse area join the station.” VP of Programming, Kat Brady added, “Thanks to the new antenna, we are excited to welcome a new community of listeners to the Z89 family.” Despite this beefy new signal, we found out that some Americans will still have some difficulty picking up the station. No problem — party with Z89 on the go via the iHeartRadio app. Check out more details about the upgrade on Syracuse.com.
