Those Who CAN Do, Teach Radio
• After a year in the PD chair at Cumulus Country WXBM/Pensacola, FL, Adam “Kash” Kashner is returning to his hometown of Indianapolis, where he previously served as APD/MD of Country sister WFMS… except this time he’s coming home in the role of an educator — he’s returning to his alma mater, Warren Central High School on Feb. 1, as PD of the school’s radio station, WEDM, and will be sharing his accumulated knowledge to teach our next generation of broadcasters.
As Kash explains to RAMP, “While it wasn’t an easy decision to leave the team in Pensacola, going home to teach at my alma mater was an opportunity I just couldn’t pass up. I look forward to helping lay the foundation for the next crop of radio stars to come out of Warren Central and Indianapolis as a whole. As for WXBM, get your resumes ready and applications in, because you won’t find a more supportive OM in Glenn Johnson or Market Manager Gary Mertins. Whoever gets this gig is stepping into a truly great situation.”
You heard the man… with Kash’s time in Pensacola rapidly ticking down, Johnson is actively seeking his successor to take over the reins of WXBM. Johnson told us, “I hate seeing Kash leave, but I beyond love the fact that someone who gets programming the way he does is going to be teaching up and coming broadcast students!”
You will find the complete job description posted on the Cumulus Careers site; qualified candidates are also urged to send packages to Glenn.Johnson@cumulus.com, and send your best wishes to Kash at KashOnTheAir@gmail.com.
