Tommy Castor Turns The Page
• It’s time for a new path for Tommy Castor, who yesterday announced his departure as PD of iHeartMedia Top 40 KZCH (Channel 96.3)/Wichita, KS, closing the book on a decade with his hometown radio station. Castor broke the news in a Facebook post that read, in part, “After 10 years of working with iHeartMedia (six and a half of those years as the Program Director of Channel 96.3), I have announced my resignation, effective immediately.”
Castor (pictured here with his wife, Morgan and their awesome dog, Chip), joined the station in May 2008. He was upped to APD/afternoons in October of 2011 and awarded PD stripes in July 2013.
Castor continued, “This is 100% my decision to step down and leave the place I’ve spent the majority of my adult life. The time is just right. It’s my time to go and move on. I’m so thankful to this company for 10 years ago, giving a dumb 22-year old kid a chance to grow and lead and prosper in his radio career, and I’m so grateful for the chance to work with some outstanding people along the way.” When asked to share one of the highlights of his career, Castor told RAMP, “I got to program the station I listened to in high school.” For the immediate future, Castor can be reached at tommycastor@gmail.com.
