Travis Moon Named OM, CMG Houston
• Cox Media Group has named Country radio veteran Travis Moon as the new Director of Operations for its Houston group, overseeing content for Country KKBQ (93Q), Classic Rock KGLK (The Eagle) and Classic Country KTHT (Country Legends 97.1).
Moon starts April 11 and is inbound from Salt Lake City, where he has programed Cumulus Country KUBL (K-Bull 93) since mid-2017. Earlier programming stops include KAJA/San Antonio, KASE & KVET/Austin,WUBE & WYGY/Cincinnati, and 11 years as APD/MD of KEEY/Minneapolis. Moon also served a two-year stint as the Sr. Liaison for Radio Development at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Moon succeeds Johnny Chiang, who left in January after 21 years as OM and transitioned to the label side as VP of Radio Promotions & Artist Development at Red Street Country, an imprint under the umbrella of Red Street Records, the Christian label launched in 2018 by former Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus.
