Vince Richards Leaving Audacy

The news was shared in a staff memo from Bob Mackay, SVP/Market Manager of Audacy Dallas, which reads, “For the last eight years, Vince Richards has been a pivotal force at Audacy, managing our operations and music stations here in Dallas, our two Rock stations in Sacramento and, for the last four years, leading our Rock strategy as Format VP. At the end of this month, Vince will be leaving Audacy to explore other opportunities.
In talking with Vince this week, he said, ‘After eight personally and professionally rewarding years at Audacy, I’ll be moving on to my next opportunity. I am incredibly proud of the work I’ve accomplished with our teams here in Dallas and across the country, driving ratings and revenue while connecting with our listeners. I look forward to continuing to build on the legacy I’ve created throughout my career in radio.’
Richards, who had spent the majority of his career in the state of Texas, was named OM of Entercom’s six-station Sacramento group in early 2018. He returned to DFW in December 2020 as Brand Manager of Audacy Adult Hits KJKK (100.3 Jack FM) and was later elevated to VP of Rock Programming.
Richards earlier served as National Operations Manager for Townsquare Media, and he notably put in a decade of service with Clear Channel — six years as Director of FM Programming for Clear Channel Houston and OM of CC Dallas and PD of Alternative KDGE (102.1 The Edge). Richards’ history with Entercom/Audacy originally started back in 1996 with a five-year stint as OM of Entercom Kansas City and PD of KQRC (98.9 The Rock).
Mackay added, “We are working closely with Vince and leadership to ensure a smooth transition for both local and format duties. More specific details will be provided.”
Going forward, Richards can be contacted at vrichards989@gmail.com.
