Wake Up & Watch WMSC’s ‘Morning Buzz’
• Montclair State University’s award-winning radio station, WMSC 90.3 is pleased to announce that its flagship show, The Morning Buzz, will begin streaming live video exclusively on Hawk+, starting March 27. Hawk+ is the first-ever university streaming service. The digital platform is free and curates content from across the Montclair State University Campus.
The Morning Buzz launched in 2014 as a weekly show, and then began broadcasting from 7-9am every weekday. The show continued to broadcast remotely at the height of the pandemic, and it was then that the staff decided to use Zoom capabilities to take the show to Facebook, where they found a new audience. The show, which features a different on-air crew every day, engages students on air in the roles of hosts, newscasters, sportscasters, and beat reporters, and has two producers and five editors. The program continues to offer great opportunities for students seeking to learn how to put together a structured news and current events program.
“While we enjoyed seeing our parents, grandparents, friends, and listeners worldwide connect with the show on Facebook, we are excited to bring the show live to Hawk+,” said Producer Lara Ziccardi.
Once the show has aired, highlights will continue to be shared via the station’s YouTube page and Hawk+.
