WBAL Expands To 101.5FM
• Hearst’s legendary WBAL (NewsRadio 1090)/Baltimore, a staple on the AM dial for 93 years, just entered the exciting modern world of Frequency Modulation with the installation of a translator at 101.5.
Seconds after the giant red knife switch was thrown, WBAL President & GM Cary Pahigian commented, “While WBAL Radio will continue to serve Maryland at 1090 AM with our powerful 50,000-watt signal, our new FM signal at 101.5 is a monumental advancement for the region’s most influential radio station. FM 101.5, along with our popular mobile app, will help WBAL connect with significantly more listeners. WBAL is now available on every available broadcast, mobile and digital platform.”
The addition of WBAL at 101.5 helps to expand WBAL’s reach across multiple broadcasting and digital platforms, which also includes 1090 AM, 97.9 FM HD2, and streaming on WBAL.com, WBAL’s mobile app, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and on TuneIn.com.
WBAL-AM 1090 and FM 101.5 is the radio home of the Baltimore Ravens and Navy Football. The station has earned numerous regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and three national Edward R. Murrow Awards for outstanding news coverage.
