WDBO, Éxitos/Orlando Swap Frequencies
• Cox Media Group Orlando announced a serious frequency upgrade is on tap for its Spanish language Hot AC 107.3 Solo Éxitos, which will be moving up and off of its current location on WCFB-HD2/W297BB and onto the 96.5FM frequency presently occupied by News-Talk 96.5 WDBO — relaunching as Éxitos 96.5 FM, effective Monday, June 29.
The station will continue to serve the burgeoning Hispanic community in Central Florida and feature hits from artists like Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos, Juan Luis Guerra and others. Leading the station as its Director of Branding & Programming will be Estee Martin, who has worked across the hall at Top 40 sister WPYO (Power 95.3) since 2005 and is currently co-host of Power’s The Wake Up Show with DJ Nailz. “I’m excited and honored to be a part of something new and historic for the Central Florida Hispanic community,” said Martin (left), adding, “Ahora con más música y más variedad para la comunidad Hispana.”
• At the same time, WDBO’s format will relocate over to 107.3 FM (WCFB-HD2/W297BB) and onto its former home on WDBO-AM580, presently ESPN 580 Orlando. You can also listen online at WDBO.com.
“WDBO continues to be Central Florida’s home for news, weather, and traffic,” said Keith Memoly, Director of Branding and Programming for WDBO. “With this move, the best news team in the business will be able to serve the Orlando community on multiple platforms.”
Jason Meder, VP/GM of CMG Orlando Radio, commented, “With two dominant TV stations, six radio brands, and various digital platforms, Cox Media Group Orlando delivers the largest audience in Central Florida. This move strengthens our portfolio of radio brands and reflects our commitment to serving the diverse community of audiences and advertisers in the market.” Estee Martin can be congratulated at estee@power953.com.
