Welcome Back In Advance, Dave Hill!
• After a year and change outside of radio, Kansas City-based programmer Dave Hill has expressed a desire to get back in.
As we reported just over a year ago, Hill had resigned his post as PD of Cumulus Classic Rock KCFX (101 The Fox)/Kansas City and went to work for The Cordish Companies’ Live! Hospitality & Entertainment division as National Director of Programming, where he was in charge of basically everything front-facing in the company’s venues, including managing the entertainers/DJs. That position has now been reassigned as a consultancy, accelerating Hill’s desire to return to radio or television. As Hill tells RAMP, “Broadcasting is in my blood, be it TV or radio.” Ideally he would prefer to remain in the KC area, as his wife owns a business there and they have kids in school.
Prior to arriving in KC in July 2020 Hill was SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Indianapolis and PD of Classic Rock WFBQ (Q95), and WOLT (ALT 103.3). He earlier programmed iHeartMedia Classic Rock WBGG (Big 105.9)/Miami and served as SVP of Programming for iHeart’s Portland, OR group. Hill is probably best remembered for his 12-year run as OM of Hearst Television’s WIYY (98Rock) & News-Talk WBAL-AM/Baltimore, preceded by programming stops at WQBK (The Edge)/Albany, NY and WMRQ/Hartford. Hill began his radio career in 1994 as Programming Asst./on-air talent at the original WNNX (99X)Atlanta. Hill can be easily accessed at radiodave98@gmail.com.
