Westwood One Dropping Seven 24/7 Formats

• In Friday’s issue of RAMP we reported that Westwood One was in the process of dropping seven of its 24/7 music formats.

According to the original reporting by Radio Insight, the following formats will be eliminated, effective April 20: Variety Hits Pop • Variety Hits Rock • Hits Now • Classic Hits Gold • Classic Rock X • Rock 2.0 • Good Time Oldies.

RAMP reached out to Westwood One, which confirmed it had “discontinued a select number of 24/7 formats,” adding, “However, Westwood One remains committed to 24/7 formats and continues to offer a wide variety of format opportunities to our partners.”
