WHLI-AM, Now With Frequency Modulation
• Connoisseur Media Long Island (CMLI) made some noise on Tuesday at 11am when daytimer Oldies outlet 1100AM WHLI/Hempstead, NY, one of Long Island’s longest running radio stations, significantly increased its broadcast footprint — and its broadcast day — in Nassau County and neighboring areas when the company plugged an FM translator into an outlet in the lobby, thus, blasting the signal onto the prestigious FM band at 104.7, 24 hours a day.
“This is an incredible project for Long Island and for Connoisseur Media,” said David Bevins, GM of CMLI and COO of Connoisseur Media. “We’re advancing this brand into the future while providing an enhanced user experience with crisper audio and round the clock music.” We’re talking classics from the ’60s and ’70s by The Beatles, The Supremes, The Bee Gees, Chicago, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, The Four Seasons, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and many others.
“Feedback from WHLI listeners has been overwhelmingly positive over the last few years,” said Jon Daniels, WHLI Program Director. “Now that we can share this format with more Nassau County residents on the FM dial is a game-changer. The sound quality is tremendous, nobody else on the Island is playing all these big hit songs from these amazing artists, and, you can tune in 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the NEW 104.7 FM or on our online digital stream at WHLI.com.”
