WHUR/DC Launches ‘Nina & Joe Afternoon Show’
• Howard University-owned WHUR/Washington, DC is adding a new, locally-focused afternoon show to its line-up — The Nina & Joe Afternoon Show launches Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 3pm, hosted by veteran DC comedian and multimedia host Joe Clair and radio and television personality Nina Brown, who most recently co-hosted The Frank Ski Show, formerly heard in afternoon drive.
“Joe and Nina epitomize the next chapter in WHUR’s unwavering commitment to serving the DMV community,” said Al Payne, WHUR Sr. Director of Programming. “Joe Clair, a cultural icon from his days on BET’s Rap Cityto his acclaimed stand-up comedy, and now his show on Fox5, teams up with Nina Brown’s broadcasting talent, charisma, and passion. Together, they bring the perfect mix for radio success.”
WHUR’s revised weekday line-up begins with the Steve Harvey Morning Show at 6am and Sunni and the City at 10am. The Nina & Joe Afternoon Show airs from 3-7pm, followed by The Daily Drum with Harold Fisher, leading into The Original Quiet Storm at 7:30pm.
