WQLZ/Springfield Welcomes ‘Elwood’ Bjorn
• Mid-West Family has found its new Brand Manager for Active Rock WQLZ (97.7 QLZ)/Springfield, IL — say hello to format veteran Ryan “Elwood” Bjorn, who begins his new adventure on Monday, July 12.
Bjorn most recently spent 19 years with Woodward Radio Group in Appleton-Oshkosh, WI as Brand Manager of Active Rock WZOR (Razor 94.7/104.7) and Classic Rock WAPL until last October. The move marks a literal homecoming for Bjorn, an Illinois native and a graduate of the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
“I’m honored and excited to be joining Mid-West Family in the role of Brand Manager for WQLZ,” Bjorn said. “It’s a great brand with an award-winning history — part of a company with a strong reputation both locally and within the industry. I’m looking forward to how much of an impact QLZ can make with the communities in and around Springfield.”
