WVTY Inks Milwaukee Icon Mitch Morgan
• Magnum.Media Country WVTY (92.1 VTY Country)/Milwaukee has hired market legend Mitch Morgan to do 8-10am weekdays. Morgan, who notably spent some 30 years on WMIL/Milwaukee, is already a familiar fixture around the Magnum radio ranch — he currently does afternoons on Country sister WMBZ (92.5 Buzz Country), licensed to nearby West Bend, WI.
Morgan stated, “Our big 92.5 signal covers from Milwaukee westward to Portage, and northward beyond Fond du Lac, but we’ve had folks from the southern portion of the market, in places like Racine and Kenosha, tell us they’d like to be able to hear me too. So, I’m highly stoked they’ll be able to now on 92.1 VTY Country.”
Magnum.Media principal Dave Magnum said, “If a pop quiz was given in the Milwaukee market to name all-time great Country radio personalities, Mitch Morgan would be right up there. Not only is he a pro, he’s served as a great example to our younger guys and gals including my two sons, Reid and Ty. He continues to relate to listeners of every age group. The guy is truly a legend. We are blessed, and so are our listeners to now have Mitch Morgan on the air at both 92.5 Buzz Country and 92.1 VTY Country.”
VTY Country features Reid & Chelsey (Reid Magnum & his fiancée, Chelsey Lynn) from 5-8am, followed by Mitch Morgan from 8-10am and Amy Taylorfrom 7pm-1am. New midday and afternoon hosts will be announced soon.
