WXPN Enhanced By Amber Miller
• Triple A WXPN/Philadelphia, the member-supported, public radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, announced the addition of market veteran Amber Miller to handle nights, weekends, and fill-in shifts, starting Thursday, July 18.
Bruce Warren, WXPN Associate GM for Programming, said, “We’re super excited to welcome Amber to the on-air host and programming team at XPN. Her long-standing passion for music, combined with her extensive experience in both on-air and behind-the-scenes roles, makes her a highly valuable addition to our team.”
Miller was most recently APD/MD & middays at iHeartMedia’s WRFF (ALT 104.5)/Philadelphia until a round of restructuring in March. Miller joined WRFF, then “Radio 104.5,” in 2016 as APD/MD, was promoted to PD in early 2020, and reclaimed her APD/MD status in September 2023 when Mike Kaplan joined the station.
Before that she spent three years promoting records at Caroline (now Virgin Music Group) and enjoyed a six-year run with Northshire Alternative WEQX/Manchester, VT-Albany, NY, the last three years as PD. Miller’s earlier radio stops include WDCG (G105)/Raleigh and WQSM (Q98)/Fayetteville, NC.
A Michigan native and graduate of Central Michigan University, Miller got her radio start in 2000 as an enthusiastic street teamer at WDVD/Detroit, working her way up to Producer of The Rocky Allen Show.
Miller said, “This Philly gal couldn’t be more enthused and honored to join the revered team of world-class radio professionals at XPN. I can’t wait to work alongside each of them, all in the name of celebrating amazing music, community and connection.”
