• Mid-West Family Broadcasting announces several programming department enhancements at Mainstream Rock WXRX (104-9 The X)/Rockford, IL, starting withEric “Jackson” Schwarz, whose status isupgraded from weekends to “really, really busy,” as OM/PD Mark Zander explains, “Jackson came to The X over a year ago from across town and has proven to be an asset right out of the gate. He will now be shared among The X (6-11pm), afternoon co-host/imaging on WNTA (SportsFan Radio 1330) starting in September and scheduling music on [WXRX’s Classic Hits HD2 channel] 100 FM. He will also be supervising tech/board-op scheduling and execution. A rather BIG congrats to a much-deserving guy.”
Zander also welcomes Chicago radio vet Lou Lombardo (ex-101WKQX, Q87.7 and Q101) aboard to do middays on The X, starting Sept. 4. “Lou will also handle the day-to-day music scheduling, and provide a capable and experienced assist to our digital endeavors,” Zander said. “He is excited about the opportunity… especially the free parking.”
