Hollywood, Wrecker In Motion
• After ten years anchoring the morning show on SummitMedia Rhythmic WHZT (Hot 98.1)/Greenville, SC, Tone Hollywood is setting his alarm clock four hours later and moving across the hall to take over middays on Urban sibling WJMZ (107.3 Jamz), starting Monday, April 17. Hollywood’s current co-host Barbie T remains in place and will be joined by various guest co-hosts. Barbie also does middays on WHZT. Vicky James, who had temporarily covered middays on WJMZ, will now move back to nights.
OM Mike Klein commented, “Tone is a superstar on air and online. He’s going to take 107.3 JAMZ to… the next level™. He is ‘Mr. Greenville’ and knows everyone in the Upstate!” Hollywood said, “I’m excited for this opportunity to entertain and serve the 107.3 JAMZ listeners here in the Upstate. We’re going to hear great music, laugh, and reminisce together from 10am to 3pm daily. Let’s get ready and do this!”
• RAMP‘s latest talented Leap O’ The Week™ candidate is Ryan Wrecker, who is about to make the jump from the PD chair at WOWO-AM/Ft. Wayne, IN (Market 116) to St. Louis (Market 22) as the new host of Overnight America on CBS Radio News-Talk KMOX-AM. Wrecker starts Monday, April 17 and will broadcast live weeknights from 10pm to 3am (CT).
KMOX PD Steve Moore said, “Ryan is a passionate advocate of local radio who comes to us from a legacy station and brings a great appreciation for KMOX and its role in the community. In addition, Ryan understands how creating unique digital and social media content can quickly expand his reach in the market and grow his listener base.” Wrecker added, “We’re going to have fun on Overnight America. It’s a show that’s inclusive to new voices and topics. Every night we will present fresh and unique ideas to the audience and explore them in a way that’s different from any other radio show.”
