A Match Made In Hometown Heaven

• Saga’s Milwaukee Radio Group has wisely availed themselves of the huge market equity possessed by Karen Dalessandro, who has been promoted from part-time to full-time afternoon drive talent on Classic Rock WKLH (Hometown Rock 96.5)/Milwaukee.

Dalessandro joined WKLH in December 2018 to fill afternoons on a part-time basis. Before that she was MD/afternoon talent across the street on Scripps’ Country WKTI until November 2018, when new owner Good Karma Brands flipped it to Sports-Talk. Dalessandro is probably best known for her 19-year run over on iHeartMedia Country WMIL as co-host of the Karen, Scott & Radar morning show.

In making the official announcement, Bob Bellini, OM of Milwaukee Radio Group commented, “I was immediately interested in bringing Karen to the Milwaukee Radio Group, and specifically WKLH, when she became available. Karen has an established fan base, roots in rock radio, and a deep desire to engage with listeners. Her professionalism and outgoing personality have impressed our entire team.”

Dalessandro remarked, “I’ve come full circle. That’s the best way to describe my arrival on the afternoon show at WKLH. David Bowie, Zeppelin, Aerosmith and KISS were all staples on my turntable in high school, so when I landed my first radio gig at a rock station in Michigan, I was definitely the coolest of all my friends!”

Dalessandro completes a line-up that includes Mornings with Dave, Dorene and Gino from 5-10am, Marilynn Mee in middays and Sandy Maxx from 7-midnight.
