Arcand Comes Home To WEEI
• Audacy Sports-Talk WEEI/Boston is thrilled to welcome Christian Arcand back into the family, this time in the dual role of producer of the Merloni, Fauria & Mego afternoon show and host of a three-hour show every Saturday from 1-4pm ET.
If Arcand’s name sounds familiar, that’s because he spent the past five years across the street at Beasley rival WBZ-FM (98.5 The Sports Hub), most recently as evening co-host until last month, when he was one of eight employees released during a round of budget cuts.
Arcand’s return to WEEI also means a reunion with Mike Thomas, SVP/Market Manager, who originally hired Arcand at The Sports Hub in 2017. “Christian is a talented guy and a great team player,” said Thomas. “A lot of people in the building, including myself, have had the pleasure of working with him in the past. What he will bring to Merloni, Fauria & Mego on and off the air will really help propel the show and the station forward.”
Arcand was born and raised in Boston’s North End and started his radio career in 1999 as an intern at WBOS. After college, Arcand was hired to do weekends at ESPN affiliate WGAM/Manchester, NH, and eventually went on to host multiple drivetime shows with Tom King and Pete Sheppard. While in New Hampshire, Arcand began doing the Sports Flash on weekends for WEEI and was soon brought in as a co-host on the Planet Mikey show with Mike Adams and later given his own timeslot with the debut of WEEI Late Night.
Arcand exclaimed, “I am thrilled to be back at WEEI, reuniting with Ryan Garvin and working on this great show with Lou, Christian, and Mego. Who says you can’t come home?”
