BIG 98/Nashville Welcomes Tay Hamilton
• iHeartMedia Country WSIX (The BIG 98)/Nashville welcomes Tay Hamilton as its new afternoon drive co-host /producer, effective immediately. She will team up “Wayne D” Danielson, weekdays from 3-7pm.
Ms. Hamilton earns the transfer and upgrade after five years with iHeartMedia Las Vegas, where she started in promotions at KPLV (93.1 The Party) and worked her way up to her current position doing middays on Country cousin KWNR (95.5 The Bull). Not-so-coincidentally, Wayne D recently transferred to Nashville from the PD post at The Bull/Las Vegas.
“Tay is an incredible talent with potential to grow and lead, not only at The BIG 98, but all of iHeartCountry as well,” said Gator Harrison, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Nashville. “Plus, with their history together in Las Vegas, their chemistry is instant.”
Hamilton said, “I’m so excited about my journey to Nashville to join the power team at WSIX and to grow within iHeart Country! It’s been a life long dream of mine to do radio in the heart of country music, and I finally get to do so thanks to Gator Harrison and Rod Phillips. It’s an absolute honor to not only learn from them, but to also continue working along side Wayne D, who’s been a great mentor to me. My family and I are ready to start our lives in Nashville!”
Bonus Fun Fact: Ms. Hamilton just happens to be the daughter of another talented iHeartMedia personality, the legendary Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton, who shared his thoughts about his daughter’s career journey, telling RAMP, “Ever since she was sitting on my lap as a little girl watching me work, singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,’ I knew Tay was destined for great things in our business. I’m just so proud of all her hard work leading up to this amazing move.”
