Bonneville SF Ups Perez, Adds Ferguson

• Busy day in the hallways of Bonneville’s Bay Area HQ, as Director of Programming Operations Brian Figula made two personnel announcements, starting with the news that cluster vet Ellen Perez (left) has been named as the new morning co-host on Classic Rock KUFX (98.5 KFOX)/San Jose, plugging in across from Chris Jackson.

Figula said, “Ellen spent the last several years producing for St. John on [across the hall on Top 40 clustermate KMVQ] 99.7 NOW. Her quick and creative on-air engagement, along with social media talents make her the best selection for this position. Her first day is tentatively set for September 27th.” Perez will fill the KFOX morning co-pilot seat that has been occupied by KFOX PD Karina Farias, who will be relocating to San Antonio in October.

Figula also announced the hire of Bay Area radio pro Tricia Ferguson to do part-time on-air with 98.5 KFOX and AC 96.5 KOIT/San Francisco. Ferguson (right) notably spent nearly 15 years with Alpha Media in the East Bay as afternoon talent on AC KKDV/Walnut Creek, CA and Production Coordinator for KKDV and sister KKIQ/Pleasanton, CA. As Figula explained in a staff memo, “‘[Tricia] is a San Jose State/Chabot College alumni and currently conducts freelance voiceover work.”
