Brady Inked For Afternoons @ ALT 92.3/NY
• Entercom Alternative WNYL (ALT 92.3)/New York just introduced Joe “Brady” Blum as its new afternoon drive personality, starting today. Brady will also be heard on Alternative siblings HFS@104.9 (WWMX-HD2)/Baltimore, WLKK (ALT 107.7/104.7)/Buffalo, NY and WRXL (ALT 102.1)/Richmond, VA.
Already well acquainted with the trends of Market No. 1, Brady (left) spent the past three years doing late nights on iHeartMedia’s WHTZ (Z100)/New York while also tracking nights for iHeartCustom’s Rhythmic Top 40 format and weekends for WKQI (Channel 95.5)/Detroit. Prior to joining Z100 in January 2017 Brady did nights at former iHeartMedia Top 40 KPWK (Power 93.3)/Seattle, Alpha Media’s KBFF (Live 95.5)/Portland, OR and WXYK (The Monkey)/Biloxi, MS. A native of Detroit, Brady started his career at Entercom’s WYCD & WDZH after high school.
“We’re happy to announce Brady as the latest addition to ALT 92.3 team, rounding out our programming lineup with his creative and exciting afternoon program,” said Chris Oliviero, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom New York. “His past experience in New York will make him familiar to our listeners and allow him to quickly reengage with the audience as he brings them along on this new chapter of his career.”
“Brady is the perfect fit for today’s Alternative fan,” said Mike Kaplan, SVP of Programming, Alternative Format Captain, Entercom and Brand Manager of ALT 92.3 and KROQ/Los Angeles. “His wit, passion for the music, and storytelling will add a fresh edge to our brand.” Brady exclaimed, “I’m insanely excited to be joining the team at ALT 92.3 and Entercom. I’ve always wanted to make the move to Alternative and finally the time has come. To be working with a legend like Mike Kaplan, who has created an amazing sound for the station and the format, is even more exciting.”
Brady succeeds Chris Booker, who debuts today some 3,000 miles to the left as the new afternoon driver at iHeartMedia’s KYSR (ALT 98.7)/Los Angeles. And like Booker’s deal, Brady’s new gig was also brokered by Paul Anderson of Workhouse Media.
