Extended, Staying, Not Leaving
Cumulus Classic Rock WNNX (Rock 100.5)/Atlanta has re-upped the Bailey and Southside morning show for three more years. Jason Bailey and “Southside” Steve Rickman became on-air partners on Jan. 1, 2015 when their show launched on Rock 100.5. That’s Bailey (second from left) and Rickman (second from right), bookended by castmates Brandi Britain (left) and “Digi-Dude” Nate (right).
Sean Shannon, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Media Atlanta, said, “The Bailey and Southside Show is the foundation of Rock 100.5. Our goal is and has been to build the South’s premiere Rock and entertainment station. Renewing Bailey and Southside ensures that we deliver on that promise.” PD Greg Ausham said, “Bailey and Southside have grown steadily in audience over the past two years and we are thrilled to continue having this great morning show to start the day.”
Bailey commented, “I’m thrilled that I get to continue to work for a winning company, station and cluster for another three years. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.” Rickman added, “I have been extremely fortunate in my career to work in Atlanta. I have a fire inside me to entertain, be a team player and be very loyal to the company that has displayed the same loyalty and faith in me. Thanks to Cumulus, Sean Shannon, Greg Ausham, my agent, Paul Anderson and Mike McVay, who’ve all helped to put Bailey and Southside together.”
• CBS Radio Hot AC KYKY (Y98)/St. Louis has inked midday host Jill Devine to a multi-year contract extension. Devine also serves as Music Assistant for both Y98 and AC sister KEZK. “Jill is a market veteran with experience in multiple formats, including Top 40, Country and Hot AC,” said Marty Linck, PD of Y98 and KEZK. “Jill has had a rock-solid connection with the people of St. Louis for a long time, and to know that she will be here for years to come is pretty great!”
Devine is a St. Louis native who has worked in local radio since 1998. Prior to joining Y98 in 2010, Devine worked on-air and in programming at KSD (93.7 The Bull), WMVN (MOViN 101.1), WVRV (101.1 The River) and KSLZ (Z107.7).
Devine said, “I’m so happy to continue on the air at Y98! Not everyone gets the chance to work for a heritage radio station in their hometown, and I’m lucky I have been able to for the past five years and now I get to for even longer. I’m just thrilled to continue to be a part of CBS Radio St. Louis and the Y98 family.”
