Familiar Faces Return To Beasley Charlotte

Beasley CharlotteJeff “Uzi D” Anderson certainly hit the ground running when he landed in Charlotte three months ago as OM of Beasley Urban WPEG (Power 98) and Urban AC WBAV (V101.9). Anderson recently emerged back into daylight with news of three new members of his team — and even better, all three are already well known to his audience — after taking an extended break from radio, Stu “Hanna’s Baby Boy” Robinson (left) has returned to the Carolinas and is now doing evenings on WBAV. Robinson was most recently MD/afternoon talent at WBTP/Tampa, and he previously worked for Radio One’s WCHH/Charlotte during its “Hot 92.7” era. Former WBAV afternoon co-host Derrick “Fly Ty” Jacobs (second from left) has also made his way back to radio — and to his former station, this time as the local producer of The Steve Harvey Morning Show. Anderson said, “I’m excited to have someone who has made his mark in the community — despite his absence from radio the past two years.”

Next up: Kenneth “DJ Rham” Blackmon (second from right) has also returned to Charlotte as WBAV’s new Production Director. Blackmon was formerly APD/Production Director for Radio One’s crosstown WQNC and WPZS until 2012. He most recently worked with CBS Radio Atlanta and also operated his own production company.

Completing his team, Anderson welcomes nationally known comedian “Tone-X” back to the cluster — Tone-X (right) previously spent 12 years as one of the co-hosts of No Limit Larry and the Morning Madd House on WPEG (Power 98) and is now back in the building, this time as the new afternoon drive talent on WBAV. Concurrent with Tone-X’s hire, Cortney Hicks segues from afternoons into middays to replace Artie, “The One-Woman Party,” who exits.
