Fernando Ready To Tackle Daylight
• There has been a disturbance in the Bay Area morning radio force, as Fernando Ventura, the “Fernando” half of the long-running Fernando & Greg show on Bonneville Top 40 KMVQ (99.7 NOW)/San Francisco made the decision to sleep in for a few more hours and has moved to middays. At the same time, midday personality Shannon Clark moves up to produce the morning show for Greg Sherrell, who is now rolling solo.
Commenting on his momentous move to middays, Fernando said, “Some of the best moments of my life have happened while sharing the early hours of the day with you. I’m proud of the show we created and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love and support over the years. But, I have to say waking up in the middle of the night to come to work has an expiration date… and mine has arrived!”
KMVQ PD “Jazzy” Jim Archer commented, “Over the past nine years, Fernando has proven to be one of the most talented and beloved hosts in the Bay Area. He is a broadcaster with an incredible ability to connect with people from all backgrounds. We couldn’t be more excited for him to bond with and delight our midday listeners from 10-3.”
Fernando & Greg debuted on KMVQ in November 2009 when the station was still owned by CBS Radio. The guys previously worked across the street at former Dance outlet KNGY (Energy 92.7). Ventura was also known for his earlier solo MD stints at KHKS/Dallas, WIOQ/Philadelphia and KHFI/Austin.
