Greg & Mere Walking On Air
• Wisely utilizing the high level of talent already available in the building, Lotus Communications’ heritage AC KMXZ (94.9 MIXfm)/Tucson has seriously enhanced its morning show with the addition of the lovely and talented Meredith Dunkel, who unplugs from afternoon drive and joins longtime wake-up host Greg Curtis to form the cleverly named… wait for it… Greg & Mere in the Morning. The MIX morning co-pilot seat has been vacant since Mrs. Grant left a few months ago.
Curtis (left) exclaimed, “Meredith is so much fun and sees content in everything. Love huhhh!” Dunkel (right) commented, “I found the best possible work husband! Greg and I are having so much fun — laughing every second!” PD Leslie Lois added to this exclamation-point extravaganza by fairly shouting, “Meredith has extensive morning show experience! She is a natural! I am beyond excited for Tucson to hear this new morning show!”
Dunkel had been hosting afternoons on 94.9 MIXfm since 2017. Her previous morning show stops include KSTP (KS95)/Minneapolis, KQBT/Austin and KMGA (99.5 Magic FM)/Albuquerque. She has also worked at WLUM/Milwaukee, WTMX/Chicago, KZPT/Tucson and KKFR/Phoenix.
Meredith’s elevation to morning drive creates what could conceivably be the best AC opening of the year — full-time afternoon drive on Tucson’s 94.9 MIXfm. Naturally, the gig includes being very social on social media and very active in the community as well as entertaining our listeners on the drive home. Tucson is one of America’s most desirable markets where the sun always shines. Mix is a heritage market ratings leader, lead by the committed ownership of Lotus Communications.
