Holcomb Comes Home To WRUF
• Eight months after Brett Holcomb left his post as Operations Manager for the University of Florida’s WRUF-FM (103.7 The Gator) and WRUF-AM (ESPN 850)/Gainesville, FL, it was announced that Holcomb is making his triumphant return to WRUF, this time as Assistant PD/Brand Manager. Holcomb originally worked for WRUF from June 2015 until Sept. 2018. He’s pictured here, right, with Chicago Bears’ tight end/UF alum Trey Burton.
In a stirring memo to the troops, Director of Radio Programming Rob Harder said, “Many of you know Brett and are familiar with his dedication to quality sports radio and Gator Nation. We’re completely dedicated to taking ESPN 98.1 FM/850 AM WRUF to the… next level™ of live sports talk radio, play-by-play and podcasting, and you’ll see Brett much more involved with the production of live content on a daily basis in addition to working with Steve and Eric to really enhance our student experience in WRUF and create more and more local sports content for the station, website and mobile app. We have high expectations for how the station will evolve and are excited to have Brett lead that charge.”
Earlier in his career Holcomb spent eight years as OM/PD of WBZC (Z88.9), which is owned by Burlington County College in Pemberton, NJ, and from 2001-2011 he also served in various roles for Sports-Talk WIP/Philadelphia.
