Huggie Lambeau Leaps To Green Bay
• Midwest Communications’ heritage Top 40 101.1 WIXX/Green Bay, WI is proud to announce its new afternoon driver — say hello to Daniel “Huggie” Amsden, who makes his WIXX debut on June 20. He will succeed 25-year WIXX staffer Otis Day, who left to pursue another occupation, and current afternoon talent Fife will move to middays.
An Illinois native, Huggie returns to the Midwest from Seattle, where he most recently did afternoons on Hubbard Top 40 KQMV (MOViN 92.5). Before that he spent six years at Alpha Media Top 40 KBFF (LIVE 95.5)/Portland, OR, rising to afternoon drive. His previous stops include KSAS/Boise, ID and KVEG/Las Vegas.
“After a nationwide search with some very talented candidates, we are extremely excited about introducing ‘Huggie’ to the listeners of Northeast Wisconsin,” said WIXX Brand Manager Corey Carter. “His unique personality, social media and imaging skills are top-notch. He always puts the listeners first, which is one of the reasons WIXX has been so successful for so long — he’ll fit in great!”
Huggie exclaimed, “It’s time for me to take the ‘Lambeau Leap’ to Green Bay! Midwest Communications is a killer company and WIXX is a really dope station… I’m geek’d to crack the mic!” Upon his arrival, WIXX will immediately initiate “The Summer of 10K Hugs” campaign where Huggie will give free hugs (and take selfies with) 10,000 WIXX fans.
