• WGN Radio/Chicago announced a couple of personnel moves and a revised on-air schedule, which goes into effect on Monday, June 18 — first, Justin Kaufmann (left), currently the host of The Download with Justin Kaufmann weeknights from 7-11pm has agreed to wreak havoc with his body chemistry as he joins The Steve Cochran Show, mornings from 6-10am. The cast will include Kaufmann, Dave Eanet, Mary Sandberg Boyle, Steve Grzanich, Mary Van De Velde, Joe Romano and Pete Zimmerman.
At the same time, it was announced thatAndrea Darlas (right) will leave Cochran’s now crowded studio and join Patti Vasquez as the new co-host and news anchor of The Patti Vasquez Show with Andrea Darlas, weekdays from 7-11pm (or 10pm-1am when preempted by sports). “Our nights will be filled with intelligent conversations about the stuff that matters from two very compelling born and bred Chicago women,” said Todd Manley, WGN Station Manager and VP of Content. Steve Cochransaid, ” I have mixed emotions. I’ll miss Andrea but I’m excited for her and Patti. And it will be great to have Justin on the show. He’s smart, funny, and inexplicably willing to get up at a ridiculous hour.”
And there’s more — The Nick Digilio Show will be expanded by an hour, starting at 1am, and The Download with Justin Kaufmann will continue to release new shows on demand through iTunes and wgnradio.com. Effective Monday, June 18, the revised WGN schedule looks like this: The Opening Bell: 5-6am; The Steve Cochran Show: 6-10am; Bill and Wendy Show: 10am-Noon and streaming noon-1pm; Wintrust Business Lunch with Steve Bertrand: noon-1pm; John Williams Show: 1-3pm; Roe Conn Show with Anna Davlantes: 3-7pm; The Patti Vasquez Show with Andrea Darlas: 7-11pm.
