Koolout Forecast For Wichita
• Audacy Rhythmic KDGS (Power 93.5)/Wichita has inked Johnny “DJ Koolout” Starks as its new afternoon drive talent, effective Jan. 10. That daypart was most recently occupied by “Rolls Royce” Stevenson, who in December joined Benztown as Custom Imaging Manager.
“Johnny is a real pro,” said Greg Williams, Power 93.5 Brand Manager and morning co-host. “His talent and abilities, both on and off the air make him a perfect addition to our team. Johnny will elevate this daypart as we continue to maintain KDGS as the No. 1 contemporary music choice in our market. I’m confident that DJ Koolout’s show will be a big hit among our audience.”
Koolout launched his radio career at Kennedy-King College’s WKKC 89.3/Chicago. From there, he held various positions at WGCI/Chicago and WIKS (101.9 Kiss FM)/Greenville-New Bern, NC, as well as numerous TV and film roles. “I’m tremendously excited to work with Greg and the whole team at Audacy,” said Koolout. “I’m looking forward to creating something very special while loving and learning the city and community of Wichita, Kansas. The revised Power 93.5 weekday line-up looks like this — 6-10am: The Hitman and Carla; 9am-noon: Carla Ayala; 2-6pm: DJ Koolout; 10pm-midnight: R Dub!
