Lamberti To WEBE, Padgett To WFOX
• Longtime Connoisseur Media personality Allan Lamberti is changing format — and stations — this week, as he segues from mornings on “Rock-ternative” WFOX (95.9 The Fox)/Bridgeport, CT and crosses the hall to take over afternoons on AC sister WEBE108. He will succeed Jay Michaels, who announced he was stepping down, effective this week. Michaels is a 35-year industry vet who had done mornings and afternoons on WEBE for the past few years. “I grew up in Trumbull, CT, live in Bridgeport, and have long listened and admired WEBE108,” said Lamberti (left). “I’m extremely excited to take over in my new role on afternoons on such a legendary signal.”
Concurrent with Lamberti’s departure from WFOX, Connoisseur has tapped Charlie Padgett to take over mornings. “Charlie and I have worked together at a number of different stations over the years,” said Keith Dakin, Connoisseur Media VP of Programming. He added, “Charlie has a great sound for this format, and he will be a perfect fit on 95.9 The FOX.”
Third time’s the charm for Padgett and Dakin, who previously worked together at the former WDYL/Richmond, VA and the late, great WFNX/Boston. Padgett said, “I’m excited to return to the airwaves, especially at a great company like Connoisseur Media. I’m looking forward to once again arguing the merits of late ’90s U2 with Keith Dakin and [WFOX PD] Kevin Begley. Strap in, Fairfield County!”
